Today is Boating Day!
Oh I do so love the summer months. When you live on the east coast of Canada summer is short, and so we relish every warm moment and soak up every stray ray of sunshine.
Just to give you an idea of why I look forward to weekends, Jim took this picture (with his CELL PHONE believe it or not!) last weekend. (Those are my toes! :-)
So don’t expect a perfect reporting. We will be packing a picnic lunch and I will be bringing LOTS of raw celery, peppers, carrots cucumbers and fruit but I will ALSO be packing a few vodka coolers. I told you… we have to LIVE!
So how did I do yesterday?
Well Not too bad… I had a similar diet to previous days, whole wheat toast, apples, oranges, broccoli, an egg, and a nice round of pork grilled on the barbecue. I didn’t exercise until after supper though, and I don’t think that was a good idea. I didn’t have the energy that I have in the morning so I didn’t get as good a ride on my bike… I had to ease up on the resistance, and I didn’t do weights AGAIN! So I think I am not being quite as strict with myself as I need to be. I know that I want to take small steps over time, but I also want to break myself of past bad habits. I need to NOT excuse myself from doing the things I need to do daily and weekly.
I did get a lot done on the website yesterday like I had promised myself… it was a rainy Saturday so we didn’t go boating. I finally got one of my water articles written. I also wrote an article on this REALLY awesome decadent healthy chocolate that a friend sent to me. (I’m hooked now and have ordered some guilt-free), and I wrote a post about gratitude. I posted an article about toxins as well, AND on top of all that I wrote my first (of many) articles on the wonderful detoxification properties of liquid zeolite.
I would call that a pretty productive day over-all.
My words of wisdom today, for those of you who look for those rare little nuggets….continue to extend your feelings of gratitude today to yourself, first and foremost, and second to those around you. You might be amazed at how good you feel about everything around you when you are grateful for the talents and special characteristics that make you a unique and special person.
Over the last couple of days I have spoken to 2 dear and wonderful friends that I’ve not spoken to in a while. Both of them live a plane ride away from me, so it’s phone or nothing. Anyway, after spending time with ZB on the phone I felt joyous and uplifted. She is a wonderful human being who has come to the realization that SHE is important. (The rest of us already knew that). She’s been taking time to re-connect with her family and friends, and "take care of" herself with love and attention. After speaking with AR yesterday, I felt re-connected to my own purpose. She has a way of ‘allowing’ me to be who I am that always gives me a warm feeling afterwards. AR has an infant and a 2 year old so she has busy hands and heart, but she still took time to share a piece of herself with me and I am grateful for that.
So to my two wonderful friends, please know I am filled with gratitude for you this morning, and appreciate what you bring to my life. I hope I can add to yours as well.
Happy Sunday everyone! Choose to only let in the light today!
